Founded in 1971, Sun Valley Museum of Art (SVMoA) is the oldest arts organization in Idaho’s Wood River Valley. With a mission to enrich the community through transformative arts experiences, SVMoA presents exhibitions, lectures, performances, classes, and educational programs that foster discovery, dialogue, and creativity.
As a non-collecting museum, SVMoA focuses on ideas rather than objects, organizing multidisciplinary programs around thematic projects that connect visual arts with humanities and the performing arts. Our exhibitions often feature nationally and internationally recognized contemporary artists, alongside opportunities to showcase local talent and engage the broader community.
Education is at the heart of SVMoA’s work. Through a robust range of K–12 arts education programs, student exhibition tours, school partnerships, after-school classes, and professional development for teachers, we work to make art accessible, inspiring, and relevant for students of all ages. SVMoA also provides scholarships for local students to pursue advanced study in the arts.
We believe that art can inspire empathy, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving—skills essenti...al to both personal development and community vitality.
Located in Ketchum, Idaho, with a satellite classroom in Hailey, SVMoA proudly serves the Wood River Valley community and welcomes visitors from around the world.
Our Mission:
To enrich our community through transformative arts and educational experiences.
