Responsibilities
Plan and execute Visual Art programming across grades in alignment with Resurgence Hall Instructional Frameworks;
Plan and execute 3 Exhibitions annually;
Create a classroom culture of joy and urgency with high expectations for all scholars through implementation of school-wide culture systems including fidelity to the behavior management cycle, incentives, logical consequences, and logging into DeansList;
Provide additional academic intervention support to small groups of scholars;
Plan and execute weekly scholar Community Meeting and monthly Merit Incentive Day;
Continuously develop content and instructional expertise by deeply engaging in weekly professional development and 1-1 coaching with the instructional leadership team;
Communicate daily with all families regarding scholar academic and social/emotional progress through school-based applications (apps), phone, and email;
Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and detailed records in all school-wide platforms such as PowerSchool, Illuminate and DeansList
Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and detailed documentation on scholar progress through scholar portfolios, progress reports, assessment files, and report cards;
Provide coverage support when required to ensure scholar learning and safety continues uninterrupted;
Support school-wide culture by providing support at arrival, advisory, lunch, recess, community meeting, and dismissal;
Support administration of formative and summative assessments;
Build deep relationships with scholars, families, and staff to foster a culture of joy and community;
Support schoolwide and grade level initiatives such as Parent University Nights, Spread the Love Week, Black History Month, 100th Day of School, Awards Ceremony, Storybook Character Day, Read Across America, Spring Fling, March Madness, etc.;
Support school wide initiatives such as weekend recruitment events, evening parent workshops, and other events with advanced notice outside of regular work week and hours;
Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Director of Culture and Instruction.
Qualifications/Certification- All candidates must have a Bachelor's degree. 1 Year of teaching experience is required and/or related work or leadership experience.
Prior Experience- Demonstrated commitment to work with under-resourced communities and/or children in a school or similar setting highly preferred. Sense of humility, urgency, and interest in growing. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Passion for arts education and ability to deliver robust programming to scholars.. Strong project and time management skills; juggle multiple priorities with great attention to detail.
