Minimum Qualifications: PhD or EdD in Art Education (ABDs may apply, but the requirements for the Doctoral degree must be completed before the start date)? minimum three years of K-12 Visual Arts teaching experience? college-level teaching experience, (either as a TA or instructor of record)? demonstrable record of achievement in scholarship (e.g., journal articles, conference presentations). Preferred Qualifications: Five years of experience teaching art in a K-12 public school setting? experience in student teacher supervision using the Educative Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA)? demonstrated experience teaching online courses? experience working with diverse populations or integrating higher education with Community Arts Education? MFA or equivalent degree (e.g., MDes) or recognized practice in the studio arts (e.g., work displayed in exhibitions or juried shows)? syllabus or student work samples indicating the incorporation of technology, visual culture, contemporary studio practices, digital arts, or graphic design into Art Education curriculum? minimum three years’ experience with administrative or other leadership roles. |
